Blancs de mémoire (to Georges Anglade), 2013

Video, sound, digital print under plexiglass, 240 x 150 cm.

Video installation, presented at Le Fresnoy (Studio national des arts contemporains, France) as part of a group exhibit entitled “L’image rôde” organized by the Galerie de l’UQAM, under the commission of Louise Déry.

With its reference to the work of Georges Anglade, a Haitian intellectual exiled in Montréal and who perished in the 2010 earthquake, Blancs de mémoire confronts a population with the denial and abandonment to which it is subject, swept by the waves and metaphorically confined to the fading from Western memory.
