Three niches located in the corridor between the Palais des Congrès de Montréal and the Caisse de Dépôt: inkjet print on film, frosted glass, magnifying glass, acrylic, anodized aluminium, neon, 244 x 1,087 cm.

Art and architecture integration project located between the Palais des Congrès de Montréal and the Caisse de Dépôt in Montréal’s International District.

Three colour photographs representing three vantage points of the Montréal landscape are placed in niches in the corridor connecting the Palais des Congrès de Montréal and the Caisse de Dépôt. Each photograph is place behind a frosted glass plane giving it a fluid aspect. Circular cut-outs provide a glimpse, in the background, of black and white photographs underneath magnifying glasses, requiring visitors to come closer to clearly make out the images. These images are related to the theme of the photograph they are with but also create a divergence that calls the observer’s perspective into question. A fourth photograph presents a panoramic view of Place Jean-Paul-Riopelle and the adjacent buildings. This photograph serves as a reminder of the what is located directly above the corridor using a process that reflects the buzz of life outside and provides a contrast with the niches that offer a quiet moment of reflection.
